Egypt blew me away 🌬️ Located in Aswan, the A

Egypt blew me away 🌬️ Located in Aswan, the Abu Simbel temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it was hands down one of my favourite temples in Egypt. Back in the 13th century BC, the temple complex was carved out of the mountain on the west bank of Nile and consist of two main temples. The grand temple was dedicated to King Ramses II, while the smaller one was dedicated to his favourite wife, Egyptian Queen Nefertari.

Fun fact: the Abu Simbel temples were completely dismantled and relocated to higher hills in 1968 to save them from Nile Water due to the Aswan High Dam.
